Facility Monitor

Responsibilities

The Facility Monitor performs a variety of duties overseeing the operations of outdoor athletic events hosted at the College.

Ensures that the College’s special events are safe for participant sand that outside vendors follow College policies and procedures.

Works on call, as needed, for event coverage.

• Monitors and supervises athletic events held on Seminole State campus. Events are scheduled through the Facility Use agreement process.
• Serves as primary point of contact for College on day of eventsand works with vendors to ensure event is set up per the facilityagreement.
• Informs security officers/off duty officers of any issues,concerns, or disruptive behaviors that need to be addressed.
• Communicates with vendors regarding College policies and procedures to ensure they are being followed.
• Assists in setting up for events including moving moderatelyheavy (up to 40 pounds) equipment and materials.
• Performs all site and position specific responsibilities as assigned.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

• Ability to assist with planning, organizing, leading and monitoring the activities of others.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, outside agencies and the general public.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions given variablefactors.

• Will be required to work flexible hours including nights,weekends and holidays.
• Will be required to work outdoors exposed to sun, heat, cold andother weather conditions.
• Work may require frequent moderate lifting up to 40 pounds,carrying, standing and/or sitting for long periods of time,bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Work will be on an on call, as needed basis.

$18.58 hourly up to 26 hours per week.

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time ofhire and may be subject to background investigations andfingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees,and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for oneyear or more.

The Office of Human Resources will determine whichbackground checks shall be conducted for each position, based uponits review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position. These include, but are not limited to, positions thathave access to money, master keys, security-sensitive areas and confidential information; positions that have the capability tocreate, delete, and alter records; and positions that are responsible for the care and instruction of children.

The College will conduct various types of background checks which may include,but are not limited to: criminal background, credit check, driver'slicense check, previous employment and references.
