The hourly rate for this position is between $32.00 – $35.00 per hour
. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position performs routine skilled and technical support work in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of transmission and distribution substation electrical equipment. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, often near moving mechanical parts, at heights, hazardous places, and exposed to wet/humid conditions, temperature extremes, fumes, traffic, potential electrical shock hazards, noise pollution, and vibration.
Responsibilities- Assemble and repair high voltage power transformers.
- Operate oil processing equipment for transformer vacuum filling and oil processing.
- Maintain oil processing equipment in mechanical working order.
- Transport oil processing equipment, generators, and trailers to customer locations.
- Assist in coordinating substation services with technicians, electricians, and project managers.
- Travel to different customer sites/locations.
- Oversee equipment performance and ensure proper function.
- Provide reporting on equipment gauge monitoring and daily progress/activities.
- Must have 5 or more years of industry experience.
- High School diploma or GED. Supplemental courses in electrical maintenance are desired.
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license, and be able to maintain a good driving record.
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty exam.
- Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Able and willing to travel up to 75% as needed.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- NCCO Crane Certification
- Some knowledge of mechanical fundamentals and principles.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions required in power distribution facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and prints.
- Ability to read and interpret power generation and distribution metering and recording devices.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
