Electrical Helper - Construction/Installations (SANFORD, FL AREA)

The electrical helper will work on a variety of construction jobs, within a team and may be required to travel out of town. This position offers eligibility to attend in‑house training programs to advance understanding of the construction and electrical industry.

• Assist in the assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry.
• Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, point of sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements; verify proper operation of the electrical system.
• Advise management, customers and employees when hazards are present and when systems are safe to operate.
• Assist estimator with material take‑off, material cost and labor allowances.

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 to 3 years working as an apprentice with an electrical company; no journeyman card required
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes required
• Detail oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift 75–100 lbs when necessary during the course of performing duties
• Work outside in all types of weather
• Work under time constraints efficiently and have the ability to work well with others
