Job Description - Aircraft (UH-60) Avionics Technician 3 (18512)

Temporary position pending availability.

Responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics equipment installed in aircraft, using hand tools and test equipment.

• Inspect components of avionics equipment for defects and verify accuracy of assembly and installation.
• Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using oscilloscopes, digital meters, counters, and circuit analyzers.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
• Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
• Accompany flight crew to perform in‑flight adjustments and record required post‑flight repairs.
• Comply with FAR maintenance requirements such as 91.411 and 91.413 inspections.
• Operate ground station for air‑to‑station checks of radar or other equipment.
• Comply with avionics upgrades and modifications.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a 2‑year electronics‑avionics technical school or equivalent military experience.
• FCC License with Element 3 or FAA Airframe and Power Plant certificate, Military Occupational Specialty code for Type Model Series aircraft assigned, or ICAO/EASA compliant equivalent Civilian Authority Certificate.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in aircraft electronics installation, troubleshooting, and repair (UH‑60).
• Experience working from blueprint drawings, diagrams, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data.
• CMF 15 aviation MOS series or other military/commercial equivalent to the H‑60.
• Position requires a U.S. Department of Secret Security Clearance.

• Current Radiotelephone License issued by the Federal Communications Commission, FCC.

• Hourly position.
• 40 hours/week.
• 9/80 schedule.
