The Ramp Agent’s role is to load and unload baggage, direct all departing and arriving aircraft, operate ground equipment and vehicles, service the aircraft, and communicate with flight deck and fellow workers, all while maintaining the safety and security of the ramp. Ramp Agent works indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather, with potentially hazardous aviation jet fuel and gasoline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Ramp Agent's role is to load and unload baggage, direct all departing and arriving aircraft, operate ground equipment and vehicles, service the aircraft, and communicate with flight deck and fellow workers, all while maintaining the safety and security of the ramp

Ramp Agent works, indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather, with potentially hazardous aviation jet fuel and gasoline

Marshal aircraft in and out of the gate area

Load and unload customer luggage on and off the aircraft

Communicate efficiently with ground personnel and flight crews

Practice all safety policies and procedures

Comply with all security and policy requirements of air carriers

Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure on-time performance of flights OTHER DUTIES:

Other duties as assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Ground equipment for moving baggage, and marshalling aircraft.

SKILLS:

Must complete paperwork accurately and have basic computer skills.

Excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic.

Present a neat professional appearance and demeanor.

Must be punctual & dependable.

Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work a variety of shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Willing to work in a time-sensitive and fast paced environment.

QULAIFICATIONS:

Must pass a required pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed

High school diploma, GED or equivalent in experience Able to read, write, speak, and understand English Must complete paperwork accurately and have basic computer skills

Excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic

Present a neat professional appearance and demeanor

Must be punctual and dependable and have a flexible schedule

Willing to work in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment EDUCATION/

EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required. Ramp/airport operations experience preferred

REQUIRED:

Ability to pass Federal Fingerprint Background Check - the Federal Fingerprint Background Check is not limited to 7 years but checks your entire lifetime. Felonies will not be cleared.

Ability to pass a 10 Panel Drug Test - The Full Panel Drug Test DOES include testing for THC. SAA is a drug free workplace.

Favorable Moving Violation Report (MVR) - The Moving Violation Report Check is checking for a DL suspension, several moving violations, DUIs, etc. to your current employer until you are confirmed clear.
