About the Role

The Night Auditor maximizes revenue and creates value by providing excellent customer service. This includes effective reservation sales, handling all guest accounts efficiently and accurately, and assisting in all phases of the guest experience such as check‑in, check‑out, and problem resolution.

This is an overnight shift with hours ranging from 10 pm–6 am or 11 pm–7 am. (The position is two nights a week: Sunday Monday.)

Responsibilities
  • Work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Cross‑train in other accounting or hotel‑related areas as needed.
  • Perform guest services functions such as check‑in/out, take reservations, and handle phone calls.
  • Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Discount Program, Tax Reports) according to hotel standards.
  • Prepare and distribute month‑end reports.
  • Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit card transactions on a timely basis.
  • Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing system functions.
  • Keep management abreast of unusual operational or financial events and deviations from policies or procedures.
  • Respond to governmental inquiries when received.
Skills Required
  • High‑level customer service skills, effective communication with guests and team members, ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and computer technology, including e‑mail, MS Word, Excel, and other hotel‑related systems.
  • Aptitude with numbers and data analysis.
Experience / Education
  • Knowledge/experience of accounting principles.
  • Prior customer service/hospitality experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
