Schedule: First

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM;
Other shifts may be available based on business needs
Duration: 24-month contract-option to go internal
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour (W2)

Job Summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Business Operations Specialist I to support project and operational initiatives at the Sanford, North Carolina facility. This role functions at a professional level above administrative support and below management, acting as a business operations and project support resource for non-IT initiatives.

The Business Operations Specialist will support project managers and directors by maintaining project management processes, tracking budgets, analyzing business data, and ensuring clear communication across business units. This is an on-site opportunity ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow within a large, structured enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain effective communication across business units and project teams
  • Maintain storage and retrieval of project communications, documentation, and business metrics
  • Review contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements
  • Set up and maintain project and work breakdown structures
  • Establish, document, and improve business processes
  • Track project budgets and expenditures
  • Monitor transaction controls and compare costs against approved budgets
  • Analyze business trends and assist with projecting future revenues and expenses
  • Support project management activities and reporting requirements
Years of Experience and Education Experience
  • 0–2 years of related professional experience required
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business management, economics, finance, human resources, or a related field
