Hematologist – Sanford, Maine

Maine Health Cancer Care is seeking a Hematologist to join the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at its Sanford location. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in an established hematology and medical oncology practice affiliated with Maine Medical Center, an integral part of the Maine Health Cancer Care Network.

Hematologists within the practice evaluate and treat patients with a range of benign and malignant hematologic conditions and are supported by specialists throughout the Maine Health system. Participation in subspecialty, system-wide multidisciplinary tumor boards is encouraged, and a 1‑day per week subspecialty clinic at the primary Maine Health Cancer Center in Scarborough/Portland is available for candidates with subspecialty interest.

Maine Health is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated, state‑of‑the‑art cancer and hematology care across a network that cares for 7,600 new cancer patients each year. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups.

Qualifications: Prior experience in hematology within an academic health system or academically oriented private practice is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered.
