Educational Technician
Sanford Special Education Department has an opening for an Educational Technician with experience in a high school setting or teaching individuals with cognitive and functional challenges. Responsibilities include supporting Special Education Teachers with the implementation of students' Individual Education Plans, collecting data, following behavior support plans, and instructing students in various content areas depending on schedule assignments. This role works closely with high school students with varying academic needs and may need to work 1:1 or within small group.
At times this person may need to lead the classroom if the teacher needs to step away from the room due to a special education meeting. Students are supported in all settings including the general education classroom. A successful candidate will have a current Maine Ed Tech certification and fingerprinting. Working with students and helping them to achieve independence must be a top priority for anyone seeking this position.
