Educational Technician
The Sanford Special Education Department has an opening for an Educational Technician with experience in a school setting or teaching individuals with cognitive and functional challenges. Responsibilities include supporting Special Education Teachers in implementing students' Individual Education Plans, collecting data, following behavior support plans, and instructing students in various content areas as assigned. This role works closely with elementary students in grades K-2 with varying academic, developmental, and functional needs, including communication disorders, and may need to work 1:1 or in small groups.
At times, this person may need to assist with leading the class if the teacher steps away for a special education meeting. Students are supported in all settings, including the general education classroom. A successful candidate will have a current Maine Ed Tech certification and fingerprinting. Working with students and helping them to achieve independence must be a top priority for anyone seeking this position.
Pay Range: $18.88-$31.90/hour
