As an Assistant Transportation Engineer with our Region 3 design team, you will be responsible for the preliminary and final design of a variety of transportation projects.

Preliminary design tasks may include, but are not limited to:

• Development of Preliminary Design Reports to recommend the final project scope,

• Preliminary cost estimates, and

• Civil engineering tasks such as analyzing structure types, geometric design of roadways, hydraulic design, and other needs of the project

Final design responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Civil/structural design or design checks of all components, including structures and roadway,

• Plan development,

• Final cost estimates, and

• Compiling all project specifications

Intermittent assignments to construction projects may be required in this position, to inspect and document work performed by contractors.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field –OR- non‑engineering college graduates and non‑degreed candidates must possess a Certification of Engineer‑Intern as issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
