Actuarial Intern, Summer

• Deliver innovative and effective solutions for clients in the disability-based employee benefits marketplace
• Gain understanding of the insurance industry and develop technical, data-driven problem-solving skills
• Complete meaningful, challenging actuarial project work assigned by a manager or team lead
• Present project outcomes to key business leaders at the end of summer
• Provide technical support to actuarial staff
• Potentially work in pricing, valuation, modeling, experience analysis, and business analytics
• Learn about departmental and corporate functions
• Attend weekly information sessions and networking opportunities with senior leaders
• Participate in social events and community service activities
• Join an Employee Network and work with the Office of Inclusion & Diversity

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college degree program or a Spring 2027 graduate
• Extensive coursework in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, or finance
• GPA of 3.0 overall required
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement
• At least 1 actuarial exam passed preferred
• Available to work 40 hours per week during regular business hours
• Adhere to Unum's hybrid work policy

Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in the insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial science, statistics, and data-driven decision-making. Engages in effective communication and leadership through project presentations and teamwork.
