Position: Senior IT Technician Full-Time

Senior IT Technician – Oxford Casino Hotel (Full-Time)

Senior IT Technician accomplishes IT objectives by assisting in the planning, organizing, and supervision of IT Technicians and by ensuring the smooth operation of the facility’s computer systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and maintain end-users security at the application level and in the OS as required.
  • Maintain all property-wide user-based computer applications, upgrades, and security, including gaming, hotel, and point‑of‑sale systems; contact vendor for help and advanced upgrades.
  • Follow SOPs and update them appropriately.
  • Provide end‑user desktop support to keep casino employees productive.
  • Have a strong understanding of SQL, SQL queries, and scripting.
  • Possess in‑depth backend knowledge of all casino applications.
  • Capture, deploy, and maintain standardized workstation configurations to current levels.
  • Act as a backup to the System Administrator when required.
  • Run backups, edit system data, and produce reports as needed.
  • Create and maintain end‑user accounts and permissions, providing desktop support.
  • Educate users to reduce recurring issues by offering proactive solutions.
  • Train IT Technicians on various systems or processes as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality of property data and maintain security compliance with regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co‑workers, and management.
  • Respond to common inquiries, complaints, or service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software and web applications as well as system hardware.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
  • Three to five years of work experience in information technology or a related field.
  • Must obtain a valid gaming license, where applicable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent sitting or standing; walking; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking or hearing.
  • May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • May be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • May be exposed to smoke when on the floor of the gaming room.
