Position:
Telephone Triage Nurse (General Surgery Department)

Work Shift:

8‑hour day shifts. Scheduled weekly hours: 36.

Compensation:
Salary range $29.50–$44.50 per hour; $15,000 sign‑on bonus.

• Answer patient inquiries over the telephone and assess symptom severity using triage algorithms.
• Guide patients to the appropriate level of care and schedule appointments with relevant providers.
• Document patient information in health record systems and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Develop and update triage protocols, ensuring timely updates of patient healthcare information.
• Respond to patient questions and concerns, and provide education based on incoming calls.
• Assist with minor procedures and care coordination within the general surgery department.
• Perform duties via various departmental technologies.
• Within the first 30 days, complete all licensing and competency requirements for the role.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• Preferably holds a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
• Minimum one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state where practice occurs, or NLC licensure where applicable; telephone nursing requires licensure in patients’ residing states.
• Ability to obtain any required department‑specific certifications.

Union position:
