We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate/Assistant (PA) to join our comprehensive pain management team. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and a multidisciplinary care team to evaluate, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role includes independent follow-up care, participation in new patient consultations under physician supervision, and responsible pain medication management in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent follow-up visits for patients with chronic pain conditions
- Participate in new patient consultations in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with the care team
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in compliance with CDC and state guidelines
- Monitor patient progress, treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide patient education on pain management strategies, medication safety, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate closely with interventional pain physicians.
- Coordinate care with social workers to support patients’ psychosocial and behavioral health needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, ethical, and clinical standards of care

- Greater Trochanteric bursa injections
- Successful completion of accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Master's Degree required.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. Certification of Physician Associate/Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required for PAs. Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., FNP, AGNP)
- DEA license with prescriptive authority
- Experience in pain management, primary care, or related field preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of CDC guidelines for opioid prescribing and pain management best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an APP
- Prior experience in pain management, musculoskeletal care, primary care, or related field preferred
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or integrated care settings .
- Collaborative, team-based setting with support from interventional pain physicians.
