Job Duties
- Provide compassionate care and advocate for residents while being respectful and empathetic of their needs.
- Carry out the administration of medications, treatment, and care of each resident as prescribed in the care plan.
- Update charts, CNA assignments, and nursing care plans with accurate information as changes occur.
- Responsible for resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of paperwork involved in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Receive and document receipt of medications from pharmacy and put medications away in medication carts/rooms after receipt. Routine medication orders are normally delivered on 3‑11 or 11‑7 shifts.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.
- Attend mandatory facility in‑services and license staff meetings at least four times per year; keep abreast of current trends in nursing care and show interest in continued growth.
Job Skills
- Sufficient knowledge of nursing practices and techniques to provide a high level of resident care (see required competencies listed below).
- Effective communication on an interpersonal level, both written and verbal.
- Cooperative and effective work style within an interdisciplinary team.
- Certified in CPR.
Current LPN licensure in the State of Maine and a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
