Essential

Job Duties
  • Provide compassionate care and advocate for residents while being respectful and empathetic of their needs.
  • Carry out the administration of medications, treatment, and care of each resident as prescribed in the care plan.
  • Update charts, CNA assignments, and nursing care plans with accurate information as changes occur.
  • Responsible for resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of paperwork involved in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Receive and document receipt of medications from pharmacy and put medications away in medication carts/rooms after receipt. Routine medication orders are normally delivered on 3‑11 or 11‑7 shifts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Attend mandatory facility in‑services and license staff meetings at least four times per year; keep abreast of current trends in nursing care and show interest in continued growth.
Required

Job Skills
  • Sufficient knowledge of nursing practices and techniques to provide a high level of resident care (see required competencies listed below).
  • Effective communication on an interpersonal level, both written and verbal.
  • Cooperative and effective work style within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Certified in CPR.
Education / Experience

Current LPN licensure in the State of Maine and a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
