  • Assist superintendent in coordinating production schedule and project requirements with project managers
  • Attend owner preconstruction meeting, owner progress meetings, and in‑house preconstruction meetings
  • Assist with traffic control planning per NCDOT requirements
  • Coordinate all utility locates before and during construction
  • Proof plans for underground conflicts before underground construction begins
  • Familiarity with AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
  • Assist superintendent in maintaining a project schedule
  • Assist in scheduling subcontractors in advance of work
  • Assist in determining daily and weekly goals and communicating with Utility Foreman and other team members
  • Assist in coordinating materials, equipment, and safety devices required for the project
  • Assist in coordinating with local authorities on work and inspections
  • Assist superintendent in making decisions on installation of utility lines when conflicts are encountered, and coordinate changes with engineering firm and utility owners
  • Complete all required paperwork (daily project reports, timesheets, toolbox talks, etc.) and submit in a timely manner
  • Provide team members with proper tools, safety gear, and knowledge of work to be conducted
  • Keep all equipment/tools in good working condition, clean, and inventoried
  • Prepare as‑built drawings
  • Assist in verifying field quantities and comparing to bid documents
  • Assist in filling out weekly quantity/tracking spreadsheets
  • Assist in compiling quantities for monthly pay requests
  • Effectively communicate with project owners, subcontractors, private property owners, NCDOT, and multiple utility company owners and services
  • Ensure that all material/delivery tickets are submitted to accounts payable with job numbers
  • Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and contribute to process improvements
Education, Training, Certification
  • 1–3+ years experience in Water/Force Main/Sanitary Sewer/Storm Drain Line work for the construction industry (Preferred)
  • OSHA Supervisor Training
  • Trenching and Excavation Competent Person
  • Rigging
  • Qualified Work Zone Traffic Control Supervisor
  • Flagger
  • First Aid/CPR
