We provide a supportive, growth-focused workplace where professionals can thrive while helping students access first-class educational and workforce opportunities. Join us in shaping futures, strengthening our region, and contributing to a mission-driven culture rooted in service and opportunity.
Central Carolina Community College's Upward Bound programs works with low-income, future first-generation college school students from Harnett and Lee County High Schools with the goal of helping our students enroll and succeed at post-secondary education. During the summer, our rising sophomores and juniors attend a residential summer academy where they are provided with instruction in composition and literature, science, math, and foreign language in addition to other skills that will be helpful in transitioning from high school to college.
TRIO Upward Bound will hire one math, English, foreign language, and science teacher to work with rising 10th and 11th-grade students during the summer academy. Academic Instructors are responsible for developing curriculum, providing engaging classroom instruction in the assigned subject area, tutoring, evaluating student progress, and meeting regularly with permanent staff. These summer courses are supplemental and help students smooth the transition from one grade level to the next.
There will be one week of nonresidential programming held at the campus of CCCC, where instructors will teach two days the week of June 8 (either M-T or W-TH from 9:00 AM-11:30 AM).
From June 15 to July 1, Upward Bound's residential program is held on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. Instructors would either teach in the morning (9:00 AM-12:00 PM or the afternoon (12:30 PM-3:00 PM). The program runs from June 19 to July 26.
