DescriptionAir Distribution Technologies is seeking a Mechanical/Product Designer to join our Trion engineering team. This role supports both special customer orders and new product development by working closely with engineers to produce high‑quality CAD designs and accurate bills of material. The Mechanical Designer plays a key role in ensuring product designs meet specifications, are manufacturable, and are delivered on schedule to support business and customer needs.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Create 3D solid models and generate 2D drawings, including bills of material, for special customer HVAC equipment orders
- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings for new product development initiatives
- Design sheet metal parts and assemblies for production
- Produce and interpret basic electrical diagrams
- Maintain and update existing product documentation, including design improvements and drawing revisions
- Collaborate with production personnel to clarify drawings and ensure products are built to specifications
- Cross‑functionally partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Production Planning teams
- Manage assigned projects to ensure completion within established timelines
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Solid Works (3D modeling) and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with MAPICS or similar MRP/ERP systems
The work environment is primarily in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and a climate‑controlled atmosphere designed for productivity.
