Lead Maintenance Technician

Reports To:

Plant Manager
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt

Hours:

Monday - Thursday 6AM to 4PM;
Optional Overtime: 6-8 hours on Friday

Pay:$30+ per hour - Direct Hire

Job Overview
Oversee, troubleshoot, and perform work involving all aspects of maintenance; including repairs to production machinery, equipment, and maintaining facility and property grounds.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Directs maintenance operations.

• Oversees and inspects all new equipment and repair work to ensure equipment is running safely and efficiently.

• Oversees new machinery installations including layouts, electrical, and any other required work. Reviews necessary air and power requirements and makes recommendations.

• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and other mechanical equipment required for production.

• Makes repairs and upgrades related to facility maintenance, including building, property grounds, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, security, overhead doors, compressor room, etc.

• Coordinates quarterly, semi-annual, and annual fire sprinkler inspections.

• Reviews and updates Equipment Log

• Reviews and updates Preventative Maintenance schedule as required.

• Coordinates any work that requires Outside Service by selecting vendors, requesting estimates, and scheduling appointments.

• Maintains a clean and tidy maintenance shop and spare parts room. Properly disposes of old and worn machine parts.

• Responds to emergency facility situations when needed and/or required.

• Operates a powered industrial truck or scissor lift as needed.

• All other duties as assigned.

Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of computers

Education and or/experience
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred;
Minimum 2 years factory maintenance experience; 1 year experience with three phase electric power.

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:

• Safety Glasses - ANSI Z87 - with side shields everywhere in the plant

• Sturdy Work Shoes - hard sole / leather uppers (no tennis shoes unless designed to meet OSHA safety standards)

• Hearing Protection

• Gloves as necessary
