• 2nd Shift: $29.38/hour (includes 8% shift premium)

As a Robot Technician at Caterpillar, you will:

• Booth Operation:
  Correct set up and operation of powder painting equipment.
• Quality:
  Respond quickly defects and be able to report paint quality metrics such as FPY, DPU, etc.
• Troubleshooting:
  Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with robotic systems and other Paint equipment including mechanical, electrical, and programming problems and work with manufacturers to resolve these issues.
• Programming:
  Write, modify, and debug Fanuc robot programs to meet production requirements and improve efficiency.
• Repairs:
  Work with the maintenance team to conduct repairs on Fanuc robots as needed, including replacing parts and components.
• Documentation:
  Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with MEs and Production staff to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Training:
  Provide basic operation/troubleshoot training to line technicians, Planners and MEs.
• Inventory Management:
  Maintain weekly inventory counts of all paint products and necessary parts.

Basic Requirements:

  Skills:
  
  Strong technical aptitude with a focus on robotics, automation, and mechatronics.
• Fanuc
  
  Experience:
  
  Prior experience working with Fanuc robot.
• Equipment paint processing:
  Prior experience OR a paint related certificate or degree (trade school/technical degree).
• Problem-Solving:
  Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Communication:
  Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts.
• Detail-Oriented:
  Meticulous attention to detail when performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Remastering
• Macros
• Proficient computer skill with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Follows documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free work and adjustment of components and machines.
• Perform other related work duties as assigned.
• Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea
• Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
• Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Must be able to function as part of a team, willing to be multi-trained and maintain a safe, clean an orderly work area.
• Contributing team member
• Must have effective communications skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Top Candidates will also have:

• 1 year of Fanuc robot Programming and operation
• AGV Programming and experience
• Fanuc Paint Pro experience
