**** Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
** When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other.  We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live.

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Caterpillar is developing a new advanced manufacturing campus in Sanford, North Carolina, to expand production capacity for compact track loaders and telehandlers. The modern, technology-enabled operation is expected to incorporate automation, robotics, digital production systems and integrated logistics capabilities to enhance safety, quality and operational performance. Employees will help build the products our customers rely on while developing skills in advanced manufacturing and supporting the continued growth of Caterpillar’s Cat CompactSM business.

** Job Summary
** The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will provide site-level EHS leadership for a new advanced manufacturing facility, helping the site launch safely and build strong operating discipline from the beginning. This leader will be involved from construction planning through startup and stable production. Early priorities will include contractor evaluation related to safety, safety training, contractor safety program adherence, construction risk, site controls and readiness.
This role supports Caterpillar’s Safety Driven culture, where safety is not a checklist or a set of procedures. It requires an EHS leader who can lead through ambiguity, influence project and operations leaders, work directly with contractors and employees, and build a safety culture where safe behavior is coached, expected and reinforced in the flow of daily work.

** What You Will Do
*** Lead EHS execution for a new advanced manufacturing site from construction planning through startup.
* Set clear construction-phase safety expectations for contractors, project teams and site leaders, including orientation, site access, work planning, hazard controls, inspections and corrective actions.
* Build practical EHS programs, training, audits, reporting routines and risk-reduction processes that support Caterpillar standards, legal requirements and local operating needs.
* Partner with construction, facilities, operations, engineering, maintenance, security, human resources, suppliers, contractors and system integrators to identify risks early and resolve issues quickly.
* Support safe implementation of advanced manufacturing systems, automated material movement, connected equipment, robotics, energy systems, utilities and production processes.
* Establish leader routines for hazard identification, risk assessment, contractor safety, incident response, corrective actions and emergency preparedness.
* Use EHS data, leading indicators, inspections, observations, incident trends and audit findings to guide decisions and focus resources where risk is highest.
* Provide leadership for environmental compliance, waste management, chemical management, air, water, stormwater, permitting and sustainability-related programs.
* Coach leaders and employees, using field observations, feedback, leader routines and follow-up to reinforce safe decisions during construction and startup.
** What You Will Have*
