The assigned unit is a 29‑bed Day Unit that admits, discharges, and cares for patients aged 17 and older. It handles scheduled elective surgical and interventional radiology cases, preparing patients for procedures and discharging them home. It operates Monday‑Friday from 5:00 a.m. until the last discharge.
ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized care. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and inter‑professional colleagues, planning and coordinating care, performing patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various nursing interventions across preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up phases.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA); bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current, unencumbered RN license issued by the state board of nursing in the state of practice; multistate licensure allowed for Nurse License Compact states.
- Holds required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
