Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, Clinical Informatics Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission of making communities healthier by ensuring our clinical teams are confident, efficient, and accurate in their use of Cerner Power Chart and other clinical applications essential to patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct orientation and training for new employees, students, contractors, providers, and other staff on Cerner Power Chart and related clinical applications
  • Assist users with navigating the Cerner EMR and provide education to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant documentation
  • Attend committee and Clinical Informatics meetings to discuss workflow changes, system enhancements, optimization opportunities, and best practices representing the hospital
  • Manage and resolve incoming support requests through Service Now, assisting users with application issues, system problems, and workflow‑related questions
  • Communicate upcoming system changes, enhancements, upgrades, and downtime notifications to ensure staff awareness and readiness
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational departments to identify workflow improvement opportunities and support implementation of system changes
  • Provide at‑the‑elbow support, troubleshooting, and follow‑up assistance for users as needed
  • Participate in testing, validation, and implementation activities related to system upgrades, new functionality, interfaces, and clinical applications

Qualifications
  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
    Master's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of Cerner experience with high proficiency using Cerner in a clinical environment
  • Strong critical thinking, independent judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and sometimes stressful environment
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
