American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and prior emergency nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a 137-bed acute care hospital and Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center
- 21-bed unit including 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
- Cares for all patient ages presenting with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Maintains a 1:5 patient ratio
- Utilizes Cerner EHR system
- Uses emergency equipment including telemetry/EKG monitoring
- 7P-7A shift schedule with every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
- No call requirements
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required
- ADN required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
- Experience with trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG required
- Psych ER experience a plus
- Must be a fast-paced multi-tasker who thrives in a dynamic team environment
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and critical conditions
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Located in Sanford, NC, within easy access to Raleigh, Durham, and the Research Triangle region, approximately 3 hours from the NC coast and Blue Ridge Mountains
- Any scrub color permitted; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts are not allowed
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
