DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of emergency nursing experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Details- Emergency Department in a 137-bed acute care hospital and Joint Commission accredited Primary Stroke Center
- 21-bed unit including 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
- Patient population of all ages presenting with COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses emergency equipment and Cerner EHR
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required
- ADN required
- Skills required:
emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG - Psychiatric ER experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Provide emergency nursing care across a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring strong multi-tasking and teamwork
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Scrub color is unrestricted; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts are not permitted
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel assignment rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
