Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel)

Sanford, NC | Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend and some holidays required | No call requirements

• Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages across a 21-bed Emergency Department, including telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track areas
• Manage IV access, IV drips, oxygen demand support, and blood product administration
• Perform and interpret basic telemetry and EKG monitoring
• Respond to resuscitation events and trauma situations using emergency equipment
• Care for patients presenting with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
• Float to other areas as needed and maintain a 1:5 patient ratio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active RN license valid for practice in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Proficiency with emergency nursing skills including trauma care, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG
• Experience with Cerner EHR

• Background in emergency medicine in an acute care setting
• Psychiatric or behavioral health emergency experience is a plus
• Strong multitasking ability with a team-oriented, adaptable personality suited for a high-volume environment

• Work at a Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center offering a broad range of specialty services in a 137-bed acute care hospital serving the heart of North Carolina
