American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 2 years of ER experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in a 21-bed Emergency Department with 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
- Primary Stroke Center treating all patient ages
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses standard emergency equipment and Cerner EMR
- Night shift from 7p to 7a
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Floating as needed
- No call requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required
- ADN required
- Skilled in emergency nursing, trauma care, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG
- Psych ER or emergency medicine experience a plus
- Provide emergency nursing care for a wide range of diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Weekly Monday orientation
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong multi-tasking skills and teamwork
- Scrubs of any color permitted; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts not allowed
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Cannot be employed full time elsewhere while on assignment
