Salary Range: $50,088 - $87,654

Qualifications:

MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

To be considered for a Correctional Associate Warden for Programs I position, ALL applicants must :

  • Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G.0302)
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Produce a negative drug screening result
  • Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
  • Possess a valid driver's license

This position is designated as "Mandatory" and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

Sanford Correctional Center is located in Sanford, North Carolina and houses up to 298 male offenders in a minimum custody facility.

  • Education must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Member-4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.

Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application, if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.

Applicants who are former members of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD256 or NGB
22, along with the state application.

The NCDAC must adhere to the US Dept. of Justice Final Rule on the "National Standards to Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Prison Rape."

Minimum

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of supervisory or management level experience in correctional programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
