Company DescriptionOur publicly traded client is looking for a Technical Accounting professional to own financial reporting and technical accounting with direct visibility to senior leadership. They are seeking either a director level or manager level candidate. This is a great opportunity to work through complex, high-impact transactions, tighten and shape processes across the organization, and build a career-defining relationship with executive leadership.
Ideal candidates come from a top public accounting firm at the Manager level or above with public company clients, and those with a blended public/private background.

- Own all technical accounting research, position memos, and company-wide accounting policy development, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and evolving regulatory standards
- Lead end-to-end SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q), driving continuous improvements in accuracy, completeness, and filing timelines
- Serve as the company's primary technical accounting resource on complex transactions, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and M&A purchase accounting
- Manage the external audit relationship, coordinating deliverables, PBC lists, and audit committee materials to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process
- Design and maintain a strong internal controls environment (SOX 404), leading documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts across the finance organization
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, HR, and business leaders to assess the accounting implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and strategic transactions
- Prepare and present technical accounting analyses and reporting updates to the CFO and Audit Committee
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, establishing clear priorities and fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree
- Public Accounting experience is required. (Big 4 or Mid-Tier Firms)
- CPA license is required.
- Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
