Superintendent (ELC South) (Education)
Landscape Superintendent - Candidate Requirements
Experience & Background- 5+ years of experience in landscape construction, maintenance, or site management
- Proven track record supervising field crews and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of horticulture, irrigation systems, grading, and landscape installation practices
- Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
- Prior work in commercial, residential, or municipal landscape projects
- Knowledge of plant identification, soil types, and proper planting techniques
- Familiarity with irrigation troubleshooting, controlled programming, and water‑management best practices
- Ability to operate and oversee use of landscape equipment (skid steers, trenchers, mowers, etc.)
- Competence with project management tools, daily reporting apps, and basic computer skills
- Understanding of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and job‑site compliance
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate crews of 5‑20 workers
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, clients, and vendors
- Skilled in scheduling labor, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines
- Ability to resolve on‑site issues quickly and professionally
- Commitment to maintaining high‑quality workmanship and site cleanliness
