Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV) will begin accepting applications for the Senior Computer Graphics Specialist (Extra Help) position on Monday, March 9, 2026. The Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV) is a nationally recognized and award‑winning agency, responsible for conducting elections, verifying petitions and maintaining voter records in the County of Orange. The Printing and Graphics Department, a division of the Registrar of Voters, serves the critical role of printing, copying and bindery needs of the ROV and other County departments. The production facility, located at 1300 South Grand Avenue in Santa Ana, is certified by the CA Secretary of State for printing of election ballots and is responsible for printing vote‑by‑mail ballots for more than 1.9 million registered voters each election.
In addition to supporting the election printing needs of the ROV, the Printing and Graphics Department also supports the printing needs of departments such as Social Services, Health Care Agency, Probation, Sheriff, Clerk Recorder, County Executive Office as well as local cities and municipalities.
The Senior Computer Graphics Specialist – Extra Help position works in our Printing & Graphics Department to operate and maintain sophisticated and complex desktop publishing software, such as Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop), Pitstop, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Office Suite. The incumbent will be responsible for operating a RIP workstation, Digital Platemaker, and large‑format printer. This position is also responsible for preparing client provided files by adjusting linked graphics, fonts, size, bleed, crops, gutter, overprints, trapping, knockouts, pagination, colors and color separations for output to Digital Plate Maker, Digital Color Printer, Digital Black and White Printer, Digital Offset Press and Large Format Printer.
DesirableQualifications
The ideal candidate will have greater than five (5) years of experience working in the pre‑press industry preparing artwork for a print shop, or a professional printing environment, as well as experience using advanced publishing software. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prepare files for digital printers and offset press equipment and possess knowledge and hands‑on experience related to digital printing and large‑format equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess courses and/or certifications related to the assignment (including Adobe Creative Cloud, Digital Printing, Pre‑press technology, etc.).

Updates originator files from PC or Macintosh computers requiring adjustments to linked graphics, fonts, and color separations for output to plate or digital device. Revises, corrects, retouches, modifies originator files to make print ready; and has knowledge of digital pre‑press printing methods. - Problem Solving and Analytical
