Position Purpose / Summary

As a Calvary Chapel Middle School Science teacher, you would be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a robust instructional program that would guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential. The ideal candidate will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. They will be a minister of the Gospel in this position by ministering and praying for and with the students and parents as well as being an example to the staff, students, and parents.

/ Duties
  • Agree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith ().
  • Agree with and live out Calvary Chapel’s Code of Conduct and Youth Protection Policy.
  • Be an example to those with whom you come in contact and with whom you serve by exuding the love of Christ. Understanding that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials to facilitate active learning at a high standard of excellence. Establish and communicate clear objectives to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures, providing appropriate feedback on work.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Actively collaborate with colleagues in the capacity of a professional educator in our learning community, contributing to the culture through assigned duties, like committee membership, and co-curricular program involvement.
  • Participate in department, school and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Prepare classroom for class activities.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Required
  • B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching.
  • California State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school.
