About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Orange County, California. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and improve mechanical systems and products, working closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and product management. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, and practical problem-solving to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute mechanical design concepts from idea through production
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.)
- Analyze mechanical systems for performance, strength, durability, and manufacturability
- Perform calculations, simulations, and tolerance stack-ups to validate designs
- Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to integrate systems
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and design revisions
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, BOMs, and process specifications
- Support engineering change orders (ECO) and design reviews
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate project status and technical findings effectively with stakeholders
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering or related discipline
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (Solid Works, Creo, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with FEA/CFD simulation tools
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, injection‑molded plastics, and structural systems
- Experience in product testing and validation
- Familiarity with agile or stage‑gate product development processes
- Experience in (industry relevant to your company): aerospace, medical devices, automotive, robotics, energy, etc.
