In this job, you’ll lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of advanced automation software solutions, including FLISR, LVM, and DERMS, within GMS/ADMS initiatives. Oversee projects from pilot through full-scale implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure technical excellence, operational readiness, and safety compliance.

Serve as a subject matter expert in automation software, driving innovation through root cause analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of engineering peers.

Primary Duties May Include
  • Lead the design, deployment, validation, and sustainment of ADMS advanced applications
  • Act as the senior technical authority for ADMS behavior and risk, performing root‑cause analysis, reviewing defects and anomalies, and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate ADMS work across Distribution Engineering, Grid Operations, System Planning, IT, field organizations, and vendors, translating technical findings into clear recommendations, briefings, and executive‑level updates
  • Deployment readiness, training, and transition to sustainment
  • Program planning, metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers supporting ADMS work
  • Contract engineering resource leadership and vendor oversight

Responsibilities
  • Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross‑functional knowledge transfer of related work groups.
  • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates and leads with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
  • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
  • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases.
  • Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings.
  • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.
  • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience leading complex, high‑impact engineering projects requiring independent judgment.
  • Expert knowledge of power system transmission and/or distribution engineering, including system design, operations, and analysis using tools such as ADMS, OMS, DMS/SCADA, EMS, CYME, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to act as a technical authority, providing expert recommendations and influencing decisions with significant business or operational impact.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, and validation tools.
