Position Summary The Elevator Technician ensures the safety, reliability, and compliance of elevators, escalators, and lifts within the assigned region. This role provides technical oversight, conducts inspections, and supports maintenance and modernization efforts in alignment with national codes and GSA requirements.
Key Responsibilities Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with ASME A17.1 and related standards
Provide technical guidance on vertical transportation systems
Review maintenance, inspection, and condition reports
Support repairs, modernization, and new installations
Maintain asset inventories and performance data Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders
Serve as liaison for maintenance and repair activities
Travel required:
As needed (out of state)
Qualifications:
Current and valid Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) Certification from the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) or equivalent knowledge of ASME A17.1, ANSI, and other national codes related to elevator and escalator safety and operations.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
Skilled in analyzing inspection data, maintenance trends, and contractor performance metrics.
Ability to evaluate technical specifications, analyze maintenance data and inspection reports, and identify equipment deficiencies
Ability to explain technical principles related to Vertical Transportation Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to technical detail.
Ability to organize and analyze design data, manage multiple tasks, and function effectively in a team environment.
Your
Experience:
Must be a U.S. Citizen Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical systems, or related field preferred5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in vertical transportation systems
