Position SummaryWe are seeking a GIS Analyst to support utility asset validation, geospatial analysis, and records management initiatives within a large-scale enterprise environment. This role will focus on identifying, validating, and correcting utility asset records through geospatial analysis, mapping technologies, and records research while ensuring alignment between field conditions and system-of-record data.
The ideal candidate brings strong GIS, mapping, and analytical experience with the ability to investigate discrepancies, perform root‑cause analysis, and support data quality improvements across utility asset management systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform desktop geospatial analysis to locate missing pole assets and validate pole identification records
- Validate utility asset locations using ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth, Lidar, and related mapping technologies
- Identify and research missing or inaccurate records within enterprise systems including SAP, cGIS, and Circuit Mapping platforms
- Review field‑captured photographs, work order documentation, and supporting records to identify critical asset information
- Consolidate research findings and field evidence to support system‑of‑record corrections and data quality improvements
- Research conflicting asset information and develop recommendations for correcting discrepancies between field conditions and digital records
- Perform root‑cause analysis, issue tracking, reporting, and documentation activities
- Create process documentation, workflow maps, and recommendations for operational improvements
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support asset validation and records management initiatives
- Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for project stakeholders
- Utility asset validation and pole identification initiatives
- Geospatial analysis and mapping projects
- ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth, and Lidar analysis
- Records management and data quality improvement efforts
- SAP, ESRI, and utility asset management systems
- Process documentation and operational improvement initiatives
- Cross‑functional projects supporting utility infrastructure data accuracy
- 2 years of experience using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, ESRI, or related GIS platforms
- 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel functions including VLOOKUP, IF statements, and data analysis tools
- Experience supporting or participating in cross‑functional project teams
- Strong spatial analysis capabilities with the ability to interpret maps, geographic information, and multiple data sources
- Experience performing root‑cause analysis, problem identification, solution evaluation, and reporting
- Experience creating technical documentation, process flows, and business recommendations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with an emphasis in GIS
- Experience working within the utility industry
- Experience with records management systems including SAP, ESRI, ArcGIS, or SAS
- Experience creating advanced reports, dashboards, presentations, and data visualizations
- Familiarity with utility asset management and infrastructure mapping
- 3 years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
- Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
