Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems for High Stator Turbo (HST) Compressors within the Order Related Engineering (ORE) department. This includes instruments, controls, engines, and machines used in energy production, transmission, and measurement. The role supports engineering, configuration, and validation of HST Compressors, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, preparing technical submittals, and releasing finalized engineering packages to Production.
Responsibilities- Review project scope and specifications and hold hand‑off meetings to ensure team alignment.
- Prepare and manage submittal packages to ensure timely, accurate customer approvals.
- Learn the HST products, serve as the SME, and bring that expertise to the local team.
- Assist in designing and building HST infrastructure in the USA.
- Support Tendering, ORE, procurement, MRB, and Quality Assurance activities.
- Act as liaison between teams in Finland and China.
- Update and maintain sales order workflows within the SAP ERP system.
- Review and verify mechanical drawings and BOMs prepared by others for accuracy and compliance.
- Design motor control electrical schematics and create assemblies in the ERP system.
- Support the Project Engineer with motor control design documentation for sales order submittals.
- Review sales‑order‑specific electrical schematics and BOMs and provide electrical review and support to other departments.
- Assist field service technicians during installation and acceptance of products.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in mechanical, electromechanical, or automation engineering.
- Experience with rotating machinery, compressors, turbo machinery, motors, VFDs, or similar high‑speed equipment preferred.
- Hands‑on experience reading or generating mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and BOMs.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or test environments.
- Understanding of industrial automation, motor control, or electromechanical system integration is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across cross‑functional and international teams.
- Required – CAD, Solid Works, Siemens TIA, HMI, 3D modelling and drafting, SAP System, and use of technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases).
- Desired – Autodesk Inventor, ASME Y 14.5M 2018 Standards.
- Quality:
On‑time Delivery of Submittal Package, Accuracy of submittal package, Accuracy of drawings, Accuracy of bill of materials, Accuracy within SAP. - Timeliness &
Collaboration:
Adherence to data management procedures, adherence to company’s attendance requirements and safety policies, ability to work with others in and outside the department.
$100K – $120K
