About the JobWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SCADA Engineer with specialized knowledge and proficiency in Power On Reliance and C++. As a SCADA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems using Power On Reliance and leveraging C++ programming skills. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of SCADA systems in the power and utility industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to analyze requirements, design, configure, and implement SCADA systems using Power On Reliance. Leverage your C++ expertise to develop custom modules, libraries, and components for enhanced system functionality.
Possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Power On Reliance software and C++ programming language. Utilize your expertise to configure and customize SCADA applications, develop HMI screens, create complex logic and control algorithms, and extend the capabilities of Power On Reliance through C++ programming.
Integrate SCADA systems with various field devices, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), using C++ programming techniques. Develop and execute testing procedures to verify system functionality and performance.
Identify and resolve technical issues related to Power On Reliance, C++, and SCADA systems. Conduct routine maintenance activities, system upgrades, and software patching to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
Implement robust security measures to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Leverage your knowledge of C++ to develop secure coding practices and enhance system security. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement necessary safeguards to ensure system integrity and data confidentiality.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration details, and user manuals. Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring their proficiency in operating and maintaining SCADA systems.
Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure successful project delivery. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to meet project objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience working as a SCADA Engineer with a focus on Power On Reliance and hands-on experience with C++ programming.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA concepts, protocols (such as DNP3, Modbus), and communication technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and programming Power On Reliance applications, developing HMI screens, and designing complex logic and control algorithms.
- Experience integrating SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs using C++ programming techniques.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for SCADA systems and ability to apply secure coding practices in C++.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
