The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and administration of environmental, health, and safety programs for the manufacturing facility. This role assists in ensuring compliance with corporate EHS policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Coordinator works closely with the EHS Manager-East and site leadership to promote a safe, compliant, and safety-focused workplace.

- Assist in implementing and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs across the facility.
- Support the development and rollout of Ascent Aerospace's health, safety, and environmental initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate EHS standards.
- Monitor regulatory updates, including California-specific environmental and safety requirements, and communicate potential compliance impacts to the EHS Manager.
- Participate in daily safety activities, providing guidance to employees and supporting safe work practices and environmental compliance.
- Prepare, track, and maintain monthly health, safety, and environmental KPIs and related documentation.
- Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections focused on identifying unsafe conditions, behaviors, and compliance gaps; assist in tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Ensure inspection, maintenance, and compliance of facility safety systems, including first aid cabinets, eyewashes, fire extinguishers, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and exit routes, ensuring adherence to OSHA and NFPA standards.
- Support environmental compliance activities, including hazardous waste management (labeling, storage, and inspections) in accordance with California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) requirements.
- Assist with air quality compliance and recordkeeping in alignment with local Air Quality Management District (AQMD) regulations.
- Assist with water compliance activities, including stormwater program support (SWPPP), routine inspections, and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with applicable California State Water Resources Control Board and local agency requirements
- Support the development and delivery of safety and environmental training programs; maintain accurate training records for all employees.
- Collaborate with all departments to promote safety awareness, environmental responsibility, and reinforce a safety-first culture.
- Assist with Worker's Compensation case documentation, follow-up, and return-to-work coordination.
- Conduct safety and environmental orientations for newly hired employees.
- Coordinate and support accident, near miss, and environmental incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Assist in analysis of injury, incident, and environmental trends and support the implementation of corrective actions and prevention programs.
