This opportunity entails applying diversified knowledge and advanced scientific principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of geology, hydrology, chemistry, or other related sciences to assist or lead all phases of a project—including planning, investigation, and recommendations. Responsibilities include preparing environmental technical studies to comply with CEQA and NEPA, researching, gathering, and analyzing data, and applying environmental laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Under minimal direction, lead the collection and analysis of data for projects.
- Determine or develop best methodology and technical approaches for field analysis.
- Examine and evaluate present and future potential environmental science effects related to project planning, design, and construction.
- Serve as task lead or principal author in the preparation of reports on environmental science effects.
- Provide technical scientific support on environmental issues to project managers.
- Review work to ensure compliance with design criteria and scientific specifications, determining the need for additional investigations or alternate plans.
- Prioritize and participate in marketing and proposal preparation of opportunities.
- Lead the preparation of applications and supporting documents for local, state, and federal permits.
- Organize and participate in public meetings, and lead discussions on environmental science issues.
- Mentor junior staff and provide recruiting recommendations and performance feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Archeology, Anthropology, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in at least one environmental technical field: air quality/GHG, noise/vibration, hazardous waste/materials studies (e.g., ISA Phase
1), cultural, archeology, and historic resources. - Experience developing standalone environmental technical studies in support of CEQA and NEPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and client‑specific programs.
- Ability to provide technical oversight and guidance in developing new ideas and methodologies.
- Experience presenting new methods and approaches to scientific and environmental analysis.
- Lead marketing and proposal efforts; serve as pursuit champion or oversee proposal production and review.
- Review monitoring protocols to ensure compliance with design criteria and regulatory approvals.
- Serve as senior reviewer of technical reports, providing guidance to less experienced staff.
- Recognized expert in established analytical methods with extensive application experience.
- 5–10 years+ experience in preparing environmental technical studies in support of CEQA and NEPA.
- Expertise in various environmental resource analyses.
- Experience preparing proposals and marketing.

Pay Range – Nationwide: $95,991.51 – $.
