Job Summary:
The Tool Designer is responsible for all aspects of tooling design and production support throughout the forging facility. This position will support the entire product development at the designated manufacturing locations.
Responsibilities- Design tools and support product development.
- Develop 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotations.
- Validate designs using FEA simulation software.
- Collaborate with other engineering functions such as Quality, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering as needed.
- Support customer due dates.
- Interact on the shop floor to problem solve and optimize current processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by the department manager.
- Associate’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/material science or 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Fundamentals of GD&T.
- 3D solid modeling design experience.
- English proficiency (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
- Ability to apply critical thinking to develop, recommend, and implement strategies and programs aligned with company objectives.
- Ability to interact effectively with executives, managers, and staff.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to apply rational, data-driven solutions to difficult situations.
This position may require access to information subject to ITAR and/or EAR. To comply with U.S. Government export regulations, eligible candidates must meet one of the following: U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder); refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157; or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

$20.50 - $28.31 per hour. This is the range APP believes it would pay at the time of posting. The final pay may be higher or lower and could be modified in the future. Pay within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and business needs.
