Tustin ABA Services for Kids, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our in-house administrative team in Santa Ana, CA. This role will oversee multi-state payroll operations and light billing functions for several affiliated entities with a combined workforce of approximately 600 employees across California, Virginia, and Texas
.
The Payroll Manager will work within a small, collaborative payroll department of two to three staff and will play a key role in the overall coordination and maintaining of payroll accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. The organization is currently using
Intuit Onlinee and anticipates a conversion to ADP Workforce Now in Q2 2026
, with this role serving as a key internal lead during the transition.
Payroll Management
Oversee end-to-end, multi-state payroll processing for multiple legal entities
- Review payroll registers, reports, and audits prior to submission
Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and corrections
Respond to employee and management payroll inquiries accurately and timely
Maintain payroll records in accordance with legal and company requirements
Systems & Process Oversight
Manage current payroll operations using Intuit
Serve as internal payroll lead for the upcoming ADP Workforce Now implementation
Participate in data validation, parallel testing, and process improvements
Document payroll procedures, controls, and best practices
Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors as needed
Support limited billing functions tied to payroll or time reporting
Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting
Support internal audits and compliance reviews
QualificationsRequired
3+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years payroll management or lead responsibilities
Strong multi-state payroll experience (California required; Virginia and Texas preferred)
Working knowledge of wage & hour laws, payroll taxes, and compliance requirements
Experience supporting payroll for mid-to-large employee populations (300+ employees)
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and discretion with confidential data
Preferred
Experience with
ADP Workforce Now or prior payroll system conversions
Experience in healthcare, ABA, or multi-entity organizations
Salary Range: approximately $90,000 annually
, depending on experience
