Position OverviewEaton’s ES AMER ESS division seeks a Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour work week with potential overtime.
Hours:
1:30 pm – 10:00 pm at the Santa Ana site. The hourly rate is $36.40 with a $1.00/hour shift differential. Full benefits and a 401(k) plan are offered from day one. Salary is a general guideline and will be based on qualifications and market.
The Maintenance and Facilities technician will perform industrial manufacturing mechanical system work, including layout, relocation, installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, building mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
In This Function You Will- Assist Engineers, Project Managers, and other functions on future plant or department layout proposals / Kaizens.
- Coordinate with Santa Ana building and grounds contractors as needed.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in developing prototype equipment, manufacturing processes, structural maintenance, and equipment relocation/installation using LEAN concepts, including preparing the facility physically.
- Assist manufacturing operators and supervisors in troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
- Assist other personnel in troubleshooting functions to determine the most efficient repair methods for production lines and equipment.
- Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing or front‑end procedures and processes through improved layout, material handling, or work processes.
- Assist with implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and use MESH tools to drive improvements.
- Perform general maintenance (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.).
- Partner with HR and EHS to coordinate miscellaneous activities as needed.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
High School / GED
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 2 years industrial/facilities maintenance experience or related experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of the work location will be considered (Active Duty Military Service members are exempt).
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 1–3 years’ experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial trucks.
- Previous experience in Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures.
- Ability to read and understand facility layouts and construction drawings and interact with outside contractors.
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems:
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. - Excellent verbal and customer relationship skills.
- Physical capability of walking up and down stairs and ladders, working on your feet for hours, moving around equipment and buildings, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
- Knowledge and/or experience leading projects, conducting root‑cause analysis, and understanding problem resolution.
