AboutThe Role
Job Summary:
Uses Lean Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering techniques to develop and optimize manufacturing operations, reducing non-value adding activities by analyzing facility & warehouse layouts, work methods, time standards and other factors affecting production costs, and recommending and leading the implementation of improvement plans as well as operator, leads and supervisor training with the ultimate goal to create continuous flow of materials and information, maximize safety and productivity and reduce operating costs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement continuous improvement activities in accordance with strategic goals
- Evaluate the manufacturing process to create optimized facility layouts and assembly lines for continuous flow manufacturing that meets safety, quality, and productivity goals
- Actively participates in daily QDIP and weekly Production Meetings, ensuring a deep understanding of the issues that affect production, supporting supervisors and leads in the timely resolution of problems to meet production and delivery goals
- Analyzes Bills of Materials and product configurations for effective re‑deployment of unused product and parts returned from customers
- Assists technical support staff in high‑level troubleshooting of mechanical problems
- Develops and manages supporting documentation for products, such as SOP’s and work instructions
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- BS Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- Solid business, financial, and project management skills
- 1 to 3 years record of using Lean Manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Material
- Proficient use of AutoCAD Mechanical or similar design software to create layouts and design tooling
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
- Highly self-motivated
- Flexible, reliable, strong work ethic, dependable team player, positive, constructive attitude
- Outstanding business etiquette skills
- Knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications
- Attention to detail
