Racker
A Racker will work on a production line, generally in the Painting or Finishing stage, and inspect and prepare parts for processing by placing or removing components on/from racking wire and large racks according to size and shape.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Select and inspect racks according to size, shape, and number or parts to be processed.
- Follow BT500 quality standards.
- Verify paperwork, verify parts and count parts prior to racking.
- Properly place parts on racks.
- Remove parts from racks.
- Visually inspect parts to verify finish complies to specifications.
- Contact Lead or Supervisor if parts are damaged or missing.
- Perform housekeeping activities in the Racking area.
- Adhere to and promote all company safety rules and policies.
- Performs other duties as required
Required Qualifications
Educations and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Experience handling or working in a production line is a plus
- Experience reading/understanding blueprints is a plus
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to follow instructions and process
- Ability to learn new processes and adhere to standard operating procedures
- Ability to see details at close range
- Ability to listen and understand basic information and ideas presented
- English (writing, verbal, speak), bilingual is a plus
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours.
- Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have occasional squatting, kneeling, twisting, usage of his/her hands to grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls, and to push and pull. The position requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching above and below shoulder level. The position requires constant standing. Additionally, this position requires the ability to frequently lift or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to wear PPE (ie. Face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection on plant floor). Use of nitrile gloves. Required to complete an audiometric examination.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. Working in manufacturing environment which includes, dust, fumes, cold, and heat, humidity from plating and chemical solutions.
