Hone Machine Operator - Blanking – Santa Ana, CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
  • Set up and operate Speed Lathes, Hone, and occasionally CNC lathes in order to meet daily production and quality requirements.
  • Follow company quality control standards to include in-process inspection and documentation.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to perform inspections of dimensions machined, including inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, and widths.
  • Ability to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Competence to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information effectively one-on-one.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. Also, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident [ “green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status.

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Pay Range: $19.00 to $20.00/hour

In addition to the base salary listed above, any employee working second shift is eligible for the $2.00/hour shift differential.
