Job Summary

Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the daily operation and reliability of production and facility equipment used in brazing, plating, sputtering, cleanroom, and inspection processes. The role performs preventive maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, documentation, and assists with equipment installations and facility upgrades. Ensures equipment remains safe, functional, and aligned with production needs.

Essential Functions
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment (ovens, plating lines, vacuum furnaces, sputtering systems, leak testers, XRF units, profilometers, and other process tools).
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility‑related issues at a technician level.
  • Support daily equipment checks, start‑ups, shutdowns, and monitoring activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance work, including logs, checklists, work orders, and parts usage.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility upgrades, and small infrastructure projects.
  • Help manage inventory of spare parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies.
  • Work with production, engineering, and quality to ensure equipment performs reliably for daily operations.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for chemicals, tools, and cleanroom materials.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Update preventive maintenance schedules and work instructions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, manufacturing support, or related technical work.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand tools, and diagnostic methods.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals, hot equipment, vacuum systems, and electrical components under supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
  • Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities and reading equipment documentation.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Work performed in production areas, warehouse space, offices, clean rooms/laboratories, and outdoor facility areas. Requires PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, cleanroom attire, and occasionally hearing protection. May include overtime, weekend work, or on‑call support. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb, kneel, or reach for extended periods, and work in confined spaces or on ladders or platforms as required.

Visual acuity needed for inspection tasks.

Preferred Experience and Certifications
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, cleanroom, thermal processing, plating, or vacuum‑based equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting (low voltage, sensors, switches, wiring).
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems or CMMS software.
  • Experience with HVAC, vacuum systems or instrumentation a plus.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Technical or trade school background.
  • Experience with hand‑held metrology tools, microscopes, or inspection equipment useful.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation range: $54,200.00 – $81,400.00, depending on experience. Position may be eligible for performance‑based bonus plan.
