We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeping Specialist to manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients and support the efficiency and quality of our bookkeeping team. This role is ideal for a professional with at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, including public accounting or client-service experience, who is comfortable managing client relationships and reviewing work.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients
  • Maintain and review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform and review complex bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Identify accounting issues, trends, and discrepancies and communicate recommendations to clients and senior firm staff
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned bookkeeping clients
  • Review work prepared by Bookkeeping Specialists and Associates for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide guidance, training, and feedback to lower-level bookkeeping staff
  • Support onboarding and training of new bookkeeping staff
Firm Support
  • Coordinate with tax and accounting teams to support tax preparation and year-end reporting
  • Assist with bookkeeping client onboarding, including system setup and process implementation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of bookkeeping services and client experience
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a CPA firm or client-service environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced experience with Quick Books Online required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations and data analysis
  • Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines
  • Prior experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff
  • Strong communication skills and professional client-service mindset
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
