Mix Mode is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in our Santa Barbara office. This person will manage all accounting procedures to ensure Mix Mode’s overall financial health. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and deep knowledge of regional laws/regulations.

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Five plus (5+) years of accounting experience
• Prior experience with internal and external audits
• Knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting principles
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting standards
• Knowledge of Quickbooks Online accounting software,  , Expensify
• Advanced Excel skills and Pivot Table
• Understanding and ability to interpret financial statements
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy level
• Strong oral and written communication skills

The base annual salary that we are targeting for this position is $105,000 - $115,000 though we can adjust based on individual qualifications. Individual salary is determined by qualifications, role, level, and location.
